Families, dog walkers and fitness fans visiting the Humber Bridge and Water’s Edge Country Park can enjoy a bigger, better and more imaginative place to play.
North Lincolnshire Council has unveiled brand-new equipment at the popular riverside park – with local MP Martin Vickers giving it the thumbs up.
There’s also a new slide – first tested by Cllr Christine Patterson, cabinet member for healthy lives and places.
She said: “Families tell us that places like this matter. This new investment means children can play, learn and burn off energy while parents enjoy everything the Humber Bridge and Water’s Edge have to offer.
“It will make a great day out even better.”
The refreshed play space includes exciting climbing towers, a high-energy multi-play unit and a new toddler zone designed to support early physical development.
The upgrade strengthens the area’s growing reputation as one of the areas best active days out, joining up with the Water’s Edge nature reserve and the walking and cycling routes.
Cllr Patterson added: “We’re focused on creating healthy, happy communities – and good quality, safe spaces for children to play are a big part of that.”
The enhancements follow feedback from local families and visitors who wanted more inclusive equipment, better seating and more opportunities for children of all ages to be active outdoors.
The Humber Bridge Play Park is free to use and open daily.
